LAMBORGHINI BRINGS ITALIAN STYLE TO MONTEREY IN 2013

Each August, the Northern California seaside retreat of the Monterey peninsula plays host to some of the most extraordinary automotive masterpieces in what is unofficially known as the Monterey Classic Car Week.

Whether bouncing from “Concorso” events to auctions, or a cruise down 17-Mile drive, there is no shortage of noteworthy events that will make even the most jaded of automotive enthusiasts green with envy.

The Quail - Friday, August 16th
Billed as a luxury motorsports garden party, The Quail is the buzz amongst attendees that week. Whether it’s the retrospective on Automobili Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary, the Tribute to the California Mille or Pre- and Post-War Sports and Racing vehicles, everyone who attends leaves with high regards for one of the more exclusive events on the Peninsula. Attendees this year will have the privilege to see the North American debut of the amazing Lamborghini Veneno as well as the 50th anniversary editions of the Aventador LP 720-4 Roadster and the Gallardo LP 560-2.

Concorso Italiano - Friday, August 16th
Also on Friday, is the Concorso Italiano -- a celebration of all things Italian on the manicured grounds of the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch. Featuring nearly 1,000 vehicles of Italian origin, the Concorso Italiano is a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere where attendees get up close and personal with some of the most notable Italian motor vehicle icons. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the gate.

The next morning on Saturday, August 17th Concorso Italiano organizers will host a parade to celebrate the brand's 50th anniversary through downtown Monterey with a fleet of Lamborghinis leading the way. After the parade, an invite-only Ride & Drive event will take place at a private home along the Pacific Coast Highway.

Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance - Sunday, August 18th
Sunday marks the finale and pinnacle event of Monterey Classic Car Week, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Known for being one of the most competitive shows in the world, the Concours d’Elegance features nearly 200 prized collector cars and motorcycles, all up for scrutinizing by the some of the sharpest minds of automotive knowledge and history.

This year the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will feature the Lamborghini marque as it celebrates its 50th Anniversary. Automobili Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann will be an honorary judge, and the brand will show two very special vehicles on the Concept Lawn -- the Lamborghini Veneno and the first-ever "Bull," the 350 GTV, which is rarely seen on North American soil.

Contributing to the presence of Lamborghini in Monterey, the Lamborghini Club America will be participating in events all week. Starting with the Italian Stampede, an organized drive of Italian-only vehicles from Los Angeles to Monterey, the Lamborghini Club America will take that momentum to a strong showing at the Concorso Italiano on Friday. Saturday morning, they will join the parade through downtown Monterey, then continue on an organized drive up the Northern California coast for lunch. That evening it will host its annual gala event, Serata Italiana, at the Pasadera Country Club.
