CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY FROM SANT’AGATA WITH THE ALL NEW HURACÁN LP 610-4

On December 20, 2013 Automobili Lamborghini unveiled the Huracán LP 610-4, the all-new V10-powered luxury super sports car that represents the dawn of a new era for the Italian automotive manufacturer.

During January and February of 2014, the vehicle will be privately previewed 130 times across the United States and Canada, before its public debut at the Geneva Motorshow in Switzerland next March.
Like a majority of Lamborghinis, the Huracán is named after a legendary fighting bull of the Spanish Conte de la Pailla breed. The bull is remembered for its outstanding courage and strong sense of attack; the Huracán brings that essence to the exotic car world, ready to put up a fight with all of its competitors.

The Huracán features a new hybrid chassis that uses both elements of carbon fiber technology and aluminum, making the car light enough to give it a power-to-weight ratio of 5.2 lbs per horsepower. The vehicle also features a new 5.2 liter V10 engine that uses “Iniezione Diretta Stratificta,” which means both direct and indirect gasoline injection is used, improving both performance and efficiency.
The drivetrain has a peak 610 horsepower at 8,250 rpm with 413 ft. lbs of torque. These propel the car from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, .5 seconds faster than the base Gallardo LP 560-4and a top speed of 202 mph. All of this power is transferred through a new seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

Also to further Lamborghini’s mission to reduce emissions, the Huracán features Start & Stop technology, perfect for situations when caught in stop and go traffic.

With it’s latest model, Lamborghini pushes the envelope with style and design. The Huracán’s side profile is connected by one line that connects the front of the cockpit with the rear of the car. The lateral side windows come together at points to create a hexagonal shape, to give the illusion of a glass jewel fitted into the car’s profile.

For the interior, all light functions feature state-of-the-art LED technology as standard, a first in Lamborghini’s model segment. To further give the driver optimum readout of all engine stats and performance, the instrument panel uses a massive 12.3 inch full-color TFT screen, which can be configured by the driver with various setup options.

The Huracán is manufactured at the Automobili Lamborghini headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese on an entirely new production line.

We will make sure to report more details on the all-new Huracán in next months’ Bollettino.
